Reliability estimation for Burr type-XII distribution under type-I progressive hybrid censoring scheme

Abstract

In this paper, we consider the estimation of parameters and reliability function of two parameter Burr type-XII distribution under type-I progressive hybrid censoring scheme. We obtain maximum likelihood estimates of both the parameters and the reliability function. The Bayes estimates of the same parametric functions are also evaluated using Lindley’s approximation under symmetric( squared error) and asymmetric(LINEX) loss functions. We give some numerical illustrations
based on simulation study with varying sample sizes as well as censoring schemes. A real data set is also analyzed to show the practical applications of the study.
