Abstract

This research paper introduces a novel distance measure on the class of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy numbers (IVIFNs) based on the improved accuracy function defined on the class of IVIFNs. Primarily, it defines a novel distance measure of information transferred by IVIFNs and proves some properties. Then it uses some illustrative examples to show how the proposed distance measure plays a better part than the existing measures. In the end, it applies the novel distance measure in the Multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) problem.
