Abstract

This special issue is devoted to the 9th International Conference on Mathematical Problems in Engineering, Aerospace and Sciences (ICNPAA-2012). The conference took place on July 11 - 14, 2012 in Vienna and was organized by Vienna University of Technology. The aim of the Conference was to assemble researchers and practitioners from universities, institutions and industries, working on Mathematical Problems in Engineering, Aerospace and Sciences. As a result, this international forum extends scholarly cooperation and collaboration, encouraging the dissemination of ideas and information. The Conference blended nicely a wide spectrum of theoretical issues with computational and experimental inquiries concerned with Mathematical Problems in Engineering, Aerospace and Sciences. One of the topics explored during the conference was the topic on divergence and information measures. As a continuation of this special session, and with the support of the Editors of MESA, we decided to prepare a special issue of the transdisciplinary international journal Mathematics in Engineering, Science and Aerospace (MESA). Authors of seven (7) articles were invited to submit their work for publication in this issue entitled Theory and Applications of Divergence and Information Measures and Related Topics. All papers went through a regular review process for which we are grateful to our reviewers from India, USA, Cyprus and Greece. We are also grateful to the Editors of MESA for their constant support. We hope that this collection of papers gives an idea of the diversity of this area of research.
