Abstract

Measures of information are powerful statistical tools with diverse applicability. In this paper we are focusing on generalized entropy and discrepancy measures that have numerous applications in engineering, reliability and biostatistics. A number of such measures are introduced and some of their properties are investigated. A number of applications in statistical inference are also provided with emphasis on models with proportional and reversed hazards.
