Abstract

The paper explores a tri-trophic food chain model with alternative  food source for intermediate predator. We perform the local stability analysis of the equilibrium points and the Hopf bifurcation analysis around the interior equilibrium point. Further we pay attention to the chaotic dynamics which is produced by model system for a set of parameter values. Our numerical simulations reveal that the three species food chain model without alternative food induced chaos from stable focus for increasing the half saturation parameter. We con14
clude that chaotic dynamics can be controlled by the alternative food resource parameter carrying capacity. We apply basic tools of non16  linear dynamics such as Poincare section and Lyapunov exponent to identify chaotic behavior of the system.
