Note on a simplified nonlinear model describing lasers induced oxide layer growth

Authors

Abstract

In this paper it is shown that in a simplified nonlinear model of lasers induced oxide layer growth (the oxide evaporation rate v is equal to zero) the experimentally observed equilibrium states, sudden transition from one equilibrium state to an other one (i.e. trigger states) and boundary cycles can not be described. Numerical examples are given in the case of vanadium oxide growth.
